A project of Unhistoric Acts Foundation

Town Crier

Clear, source-grounded reporting from the public records that are easiest to overlook and hardest to follow.

The idea

A trustworthy path from record to meaning.

Town Crier will help people understand what public bodies are doing without asking them to decipher every packet or monitor every meeting. Each dispatch will connect plain-language context to the records that support it.

What we’re building toward

01

Follow the record

Monitor agendas, minutes, ordinances, and related documents across the public bodies in scope.

02

Explain what changed

Publish concise, careful context that distinguishes the source record from analysis and interpretation.

03

Keep evidence close

Give every claim a clear path back to the underlying material, with corrections and uncertainty visible.

Reporting that shows its work.

This is a preview of the project’s editorial form, not a published story. Town Crier will pair an accessible account of what happened with the record, scope, and caveats a careful reader needs.

Project status

Deliberate before public.

Town Crier is not yet live. We are developing its sourcing, editorial, and technical foundations before publishing a public archive. This page will become the project’s permanent home.
